CHAPTER III

Feeling - The Cardinal Sense

According to popular belief we possess five senses - sight, hearing, taste, smell and feeling;

each of which, we know, has the ability to act independently of the others.

We can see objects without using the senses of hearing, taste or smell.

We do not need hearing, sight or smell to decern sweet from sour.

Our olfactory organs work admirably without the help of ears, eyes, or palate;

and sounds can be received through the auditory canal exclusive of the other three senses.

This all goes to prove that the four senses work independently of each other.
