We can only know motion through the law of comparison, which is actually the law of contact, or the relationship between one phase of expression and another.

When we touch an object with our fingers, we receive an impression of that object because of the pressure created through the contact of a lesser with a greater vibration.

Likewise, we receive visual impressions or auditory impressions through the contact of light or sound vibrations with the retina of the eye or the ear drum.

We are made aware of atmospheric conditions and temperature changes through the contact of atmospheric cells with the cells of our body.

All of this proves that touch is merely the nerve reaction to contact.

Feeling and touch being practically synonymous, I will continue to use the word feeling to denote the so-called fifth sense.

Inasmuch as each of the four senses possesses this element of feeling, which is an intelligent force having the ability to react in a conscious state to expressions of itself, or in other words, the element that registers each contact of existing vibration, we must admit that telepathy is certainly not outside the normal operation of the recognized sense organs.

For it is through the feeling channel, regardless of the avenue of reception, that thought becomes known.

The question may arise:

How do you explain those rare individuals who are born without feeling?

They suffer no bodily pain, even from severe injuries.

Will this impair their telepathic ability?

Not in the least.

This is a purely physical condition caused by the malfunctioning of the nervous system;

and has no more bearing upon the operation of the Life Force, or true feeling, than if the individual is born without a finger.

The senses of sight, hearing, taste and smell, work normally in these people.

The degree to which anyone registers pain is dependent upon the nervous system;

the more sensitive the system, the more intense the pain felt.

These unfortunate individuals, rather than being envied, should be pitied.

For the little sentinels who stand guard constantly throughout the body to flash warnings to the brain - nature's switchboard - of any unusual condition, are our staunch friends.

Let us say we run a splinter in our hand.

These sentinels, or nerves, immediately set up a clamor, informing the brain that a foreign substance is exerting pressure upon the surrounding tissue.

We then relieve the pressure by removing the splinter and the wound will heal.

But if the brain had not received this information because the nerves were not functioning properly, we would have been unaware of the splinter until the body, in trying to expel it, had caused the area to fester.

But it is a physical condition;

and lack of this nerve feeling has no more to do with a person's telepathic receptivity than the color of his eyes.

Man is a miniature universe;

so let us analyze him in that light.
