We know all things in the manifested world are based upon four elements; earth, water, fire and air.

From combinations of these four elements are brought forth the innumerable variations of form.

But within each atom comprising these elements, is a force which is indestructible and inexplicable.

It is a definite, yet elusive something, that evades the best efforts of the research workers;

and even the most sincere cannot define its character or its source.

It is this activating force which gives impetus to creation.

In man we find the same condition existing ... four phases of action, or manifestation, aided and supported by the inexplicable force that causes impulse, or action, within them.

It is therefore obvious that feeling is no more a physical sense, than is the activating force in nature one of the four elements.

Once I understood this, I knew that this force, born of Cosmic Intelligence, is the foundation of all life.

Nothing need be added;

all is present.

But I, as a physical man, must recognize and begin to use this all-inclusive power.

At this point, I took a closer look at my mind.

To my surprise, I found it badly equipped and behaving like a tyrant!

I saw it was merely the spokesman for the sense reactions;

not the Knower of Cause.

Let me explain it in this way.

The mind of the average human we encounter today expresses only the opinions gathered from the reactions of his four senses.

Therefore, his so-called intelligence is hampered by his likes, dislikes, and autocratic judgment of all that he does not understand.

He should not be condemned too harshly for this.

It has been the accepted attitude for ages.

We have allowed our four senses to be the domineering rulers, quarreling and dissenting amongst themselves;

totally unaware of the Creative Force which brought them into being.
