四つの感覚器官が心を作りあげる

こんにち人間の心を作りあげているのはこの四つの経路（感覚器官）なのです。
It is these four avenues that make up the mind of man today.

これらは人間を結果の世界（現象の世界）に閉じ込めている牢番です。
They are the jailers holding him to the realm of the effective world;

人間が自制によってそれらに打ち勝ち、それらの足かせをはずさないかぎり、人間は各感覚器官の気まぐれの奴隷の状態をつづけるでしょう。
and until he can loosen their shackles by conquering them through self-control man will remain a slave unto their whims.

人間がさまざまの状態や人々や国家などについて勝手な判断をし、万物が”宇宙の因”と一体であることを理解しないのは、われわれの感覚器官（複数）のためなのです。
It is through our senses that we pass judgment on conditions, persons, nations; not understanding the oneness of all with Cosmic Cause.

ですから人間が自身の内部でおだやかな統一体になろうとするなら、このすねた感覚器官をたえず警戒して、それが持つ非難や偏見に打ち勝たねばなりません。
Thus, if we to become a peaceful unit within ourselves, we must constantly guard against these wayward senses, and subdue their criticism and prejudices;

なぜなら、この感覚器官たちこそ人間関係という家族の中に分裂をひき起こす最大の原因であるからです。
for these are the greatest causes of divisions in the family of human relations.

人間の個人的な判断が兄弟と兄弟，国家と国家を引き離すのです。
Our personal judgments divide brother against brother - nation against nation.
