Let us use an illustration such as this:

We will take an ordinary pie tin, sprinkle a very light layer of fine steel dust over the bottom, then place it at one end of the room.

Standing at the opposite end of the room, we will play a note on a violin.

Since it is a recognized fact that a musical note creates a certain vibratory wave in the atmosphere relative to itself, if the note is held steadily we will find that the steel particles have moved about to form a picture of the note played.

Because these particles are in a state of non-resistance, therefore easily moved, waves will appear in the layer of steel dust.

This non-resistant state is comparable to the atoms when they are free in space, vibrating in harmony as they express Cosmic Cause.

In this state they recognize their oneness with, and dependency upon, Cosmic Force.

Now let us take the steel dust, sprinkle it lightly over the tin once more, and place a magnet in the center of the vessel.

What happens?

The particles immediately respond to the magnet, and gather around it in a concentrated form.

It makes no difference what note we play on the violin now, nor how long we hold it.

The particles will not be moved by the lesser vigration, because they are so intensely interested in another and stronger force ... the force of magnetism.

This is exactly what happens within our bodies.

Since we are one with the Cosmos, our rightful condition is a free state so that we might be receptive to all vibrations.

But, due to the exaltation of the personal ego within us, we are usually adhering to the false magnetism with which we have endowed it.

It is quite possible, nevertheless, to bring about a free state of cell activity.

We speak of this state as relaxation.

And the secret of being a good recipient of telepathic communication is the ability to keep the body in a state of active relaxation at all times.
