想念伝達はラジオ放送と同じ

想念伝達はラジオ放送にきわめてよく似ています。
Thought-transference is much like a radio broadcast.

ラジオの場合は、メッセージすなわち音波がマイクロホンを振動させ、
In radio, a message or vibration is spoken into the microphone;

その波動は増幅管や変圧器を通過して
passes through an amplifier and transformer;

電波となって空間を飛び、
travels through space as an electric wave;

アンテナにとらえられてから
is picked up by a receptive instrument;

針金を伝わって検波管や変圧器ヘ運ばれたうえ、そこでふたたび元通りの音波に再生されます。
carried through the wires to the detector tube and transformer, where it again changes into the original sound waves.

しかし電源が切れたり、メッセージが人ってくる途中で真空管が故障を起こしたりしますと、スピーカーから出る音波は停止して、アナウンサーの声は途中で消えてしまいます。
But if the power fails, or a tube goes dead in the middle of the message, the sound waves coming from the set will stop, and the speaker's voice may be interrupted in the middle of a word.

入ってくる想念にたいして私たちが心を緊張させますと、ラジオセットの電源が切れたり真空管が故障したりするのと同じような結果が脳にも発生するのです。
When we tense our minds to an incoming thought, it produces the same effect on the brain that the power failure, or dead tube does in the radio set.
