To answer these questions, let us imagine the creation of a human consciousness through a concentration of forces, or rather, particles of force.
目に見えない多くの単位からできている広大な力の海といったものを思い浄かべてごらんなさい。
Let us visualize a vast sea of force, composed of invisible units.
人間の知能では測り知れないほどの何かの方法によってこれらの単位の一つが旋回運動をしながらこの力の海から放出され、その単位の内部に他の分子を引きよせる一種の磁気を生み出します。
By a means inconceivable to the human intellect one of these units is project forward through this force-space in a whirling motion, creating a form of magnetism within itself which draws other particles to it.
私たちが親和の法則と呼んでいるその内部の磁力のために、この分子がたがいにくっつきあい、相互の活動によりしだいに集中するかまたはたがいに結合するのです。
Because of the magnetic force within them, which we have called the law of affinity, these particles cling together and gradually become more and more concentrated, or bound to each other, by a mutual form of activity.

Each human form is interested only in perpetuating itself;
そして、長い時代を通じて人体は自分自身の福利に適した力の衝動すなわち波動だけを受け入れる習慣を作り出しているのです。
and through thousands of years it has created the habit of accepting only those impulses, or vibrations, that pertain to its own well-being.
肉体を構成している分子の激烈な集中状態は、空間を自由に飛びまわっている原子に対抗するための堅図な防壁を設けていますので、人体は自身で作った法則のもとで働いているかのように、
The intense concentration of the particles composing the body has set up such a definite barrier of resistance to the free-flying atoms of space, that the form appears to be acting under a self-made law;

or to have a separate will of its own.
