If he gives these thoughts any recognition, he generally releases them immediately as mere figments of his imagination.

But, after all, what is imagination?

Is it not the faculty to objectify, or imagine, that which is invisible to the senses?

As one Eastern philosopher aptly phrased it, "Imagination is the bridge between the known and the unknown."

The wise man will learn to pay attention to all thoughts passing through his brain.

He will heed not only those pertaining to self, but also those thoughts taking place outside his personal field of comprehension.

For only in this way will he grow in knowledge and receptivity.

It is indifference and lack of interest which causes man to lose the greatest jewels of wisdom ... lose them through apathy when he actually holds them within his grasp.

Often, however, the loss of important telepathic communications - whether from animate or so-called inanimate sources - is not due to lack of interest, but due to a too intense interest;

or a personal greed for knowledge.

A thought, as we have explained, does not travel in a lump like a cannon ball, but in a series of waves.

One complete thought may produce itself in fifty thousand individual undulations.

Yet, nine times out of ten the instant a forerunner of a thought-message strikes the human brain the ego, if interested, will grab it and immediately tense the brain and body cells by concentrating upon the incoming thought.

That sudden tensening of the cell activity is merely slamming the door in the face of the incoming thought.

The five or six hundred impulses which found their way into our conscious brain cells before the door was closed, produced only a fleeting impression in our awareness;

which, because we have received only a portion of the message, often results in a sense of confusion.
