米国東部のある大会社の社長であった私の知人に右の例が発生したことがあります。

Except for the annual reports, and occasional correspondence between the two, the head of the company was not worried with the operational arrangements of the business, for he had utmost confidence in his manager's ability and honesty.
友人の関心が東部にあることは私にわかっていましたが、その当時、経営上のくわしい内容を私はよく知りませんでした。
I knew that my friend's interests lay in the east, but at that time, I was not familiar with the managerial details.

My friend returned east immediately and took the necessary steps to protect his interests and regain control of the company.
この体験は偶然のテレパシーの一例です。
This experience was a case of unintentional telepathy.

Certainly, the manager had no intention of broadcasting his dishonest thoughts;

責任を託しておいた男の識実さを信じきっていたため、その事件に最も関係のある社長は支配人の不始末の想念を感じなかったのです。
Because of his perfect assurance in the integrity of the man he had left in charge, the head of the firm, the person most closely concerned in the affair, was not receptive to the thoughts of mismanagement.
しかし非個人的な態度のままにあらゆる想念波動にたいして感受的であった私はその想念を感じました。
But I, who was receptive to all thought vibrations in an impersonal way, received the thought.
それが私の心にやってきたとき、その波動は友人に関係があることに気づいて、
As it came to my mind, I recognized it was pertaining to my friend;
そのため未来に起こるべき災難から彼を救ったわけです。
and thereby saved him much future difficulty.
これと同じ想念を無数の人々もとらえていたのですけれども、関係者のいずれも見知っていなかったために無意味なものとして捨て去ったのです。
These same thought frequencies were intercepted by innumerable people, but because they did not recognize any of the participants they discarded them as being meaningless.
以上の実例は、常に大切なのは人間が世間にたいして示している偽った態度ではなく、真実の表現者は心であるという事実のよき証拠となります。
This is further proof of the fact that it is not the pretentious front we show to the world that is of lasting importance, but it is the inner man who is the true expressor.
