万物も触覚要素を持つ
感覚器官に鋭敏な感受力を与えること、すなわちこれを発達させることは可能ですから、ひじょうな遠方からくる波動を感覚器官がキャッチすることはできます。普通の人に聞きとれる波動よりももっと周波数の高い波動をキャッチすることもできるのです。
It is possible for the sense organs to be so sensitized, or refined, that they are capable of intercepting vibrations from a great distance, or they may receive higher frequency vibrations than can be heard by the normal individual.
人間の視覚や聴覚は、科学者が知るかぎりの装置にくらべれば、きわめて短距離に制限されていることはだれも認めているとおりです。
We are all aware that both our sight and hearing are limited to a very short range, compared to what our scientists know is possible.

The bird, with its microscopic eyes can detect the movement of tiny life forms from high in the air The silent dog whistle familiar to us all, is pitched too high to be audible to human ears, yet canines respond immediately.

Through millions of years of evolution, man is endowed with physical senses and a faculty for reasoning;

Does it possess the faculty of reasoning?
視覚、聴覚、味覚、嗅覚などの感覚器官を与えられているのでしょうか。
Is it endowed with the organs of sight and hearing, taste and smell?
暗く暖かい大地のふところから発芽する小さな苗は、正しく生長するのにどの化学物質をとり入れるか、どれを拒絶するかをきめようとして、いわゆる感覚器官の知覚力を用いるのでしょうか。
Does the tiny seedling germinating in the warm, dark bosom of the earth use recognized sense perceptions to decide which chemicals to extract, and which to reject for proper growth?
そんなことはありません！ 植物、海、空気、その他地中の鉱物などは独立した推理能力を持たないのです。
No! The plant, the sea, the air, and the minerals of the earth have no faculty of independent reasoning.
しかしそれらは人体にさまざまの状態の変化を感じさせるのと同じ自然の導きに頼っています。なぜならそれらは触覚の要素を持っているからです。
However, they possess the same natural guidance that causes human forms to be receptive to changes of conditions, for they contain the feeling element.
したがって、大気や他の種々の状態は、人間に与えるのと同じように、やはり各物質にも影響を与えていて、
Therefore, atmospheric and other conditions affect them just as they do humans;
物質は無条件にそれに応えているのです。
and they respond without question.
というわけは、人間の場合に”生命の息”として知られているのと同じ”生命力”が各物質の中にも流れているからです。
For the same Life Force, known as the Breath of Life in man, flows through their forms.
