たとえば、ある家を外側から眺めますとそれはいかにも魅力あるように見えます。
From the outside the house may appear very attractive.
中をのぞきますと、広々とした立派な家具のある部屋があって、大きな窓からは田舎の風景が目にうつります。
Upon entering we may find ourselves in a spacious, well-furnished room, with large windows offering a wide view of a peaceful countryside.
しかし、一歩敷居を越えると強烈な反発、沈んだ憂うつさ、またある場合はほとんど手にとるようにわかる憎しみの念が周囲に満ちているようなことがあります。
But with the crossing of the threshold a strong revulsion, a deep depression, or in some cases an almost tangible feeling of hatred seems to fill the air around us.
この不穏な空気がその家にとどまっているあいだずっとその人を不安にします。
This disquietening effect will disturb us as long as we remain in the house.
こんな気分にかりたてられる原因を調べてみますと、二つの事実のうちのどちらかであることがわかります。
If we trace this feeling to its source, we will find one of two things.
つまり、たいヘんな恐怖や激しい憎しみなどの破壊的感情を含む悲劇または恐ろしい事件がこの家に発生したことがあって、その感情がこの家の細胞（すなわち原子）にしみ込んでいるか、
Either a tragic or terrible incident, involving the destructive emotions of intense fear and vehement hatred, occurred here, which impinged these emotions upon the cells (or atoms) of the house;
さもなければ以前に住んでいた人かまたは現在の居住者が、憎しみ、貧欲、利己主義、恨みなどの念で雰囲気を満たしているかです。
or the thought-patterns of former occupants, or of those now living here, have filled the atmosphere with hatred, greed, selfishness and animosity.
どちらの場合にしても、こんな強烈な感情にいつもとりまかれて住んでいますと、逆にその影響を受けます。
In either case, if people live continually surrounded by these strong emotions they will be affected adversely by them.
それは家族の生活に不和をもたらすことがありますし、また常にそうしているのです。
It can, and usually does, bring dissension into their lives.
今度は力強い建設的な感情が家星にしみ込む例をあげてみましょう。
Now, let us take an example of how equally strong, constructive emotions impregnate a dwelling.
今度は別な家に入るとします。すると入口のところで温かい友好的な感じが私たちを迎えます。
When we enter another house, a warm feeling of friendliness greets us at the door.
さっきの家とは反対に、各部屋は小さくて敷き物はすり切れており、窓からは狭い街路のむこうのみすぼらしい木造の家並みしか見えません。
In contrast to the first, the rooms may be small, the carpet threadbare, and the view from the windows confined to shabby cottages across a narrow street;
しかしこの家の細胞には愛と笑いの調和した想念がしみわたっていますので、
but the cells of this dwelling have been impressed with harmonious thoughts of love and laughter;
私たちはこの感情に本能的に応えます。
and we instinctively respond to these emotions.
自分がいつのまにか微笑しているのに気づき、このおだやかな感じをくみとろうとしてゆっくり腰をおろします。
We will find ourselves smiling unconsciously, and will settle back to absorb this feeling of peace.
したがって、レンガやセメントが家屋や家庭を作るのではないという証拠はあるのです。家庭というものはその中に住む人々の調和した想念でつくられるからです。
So we have proof that bricks and mortar do not make a house a home - for a home is made from the harmonious thoughts of the people living in it.
私たちは初めにあげたような家を一度訪問したあとはなるべく避けようとするでしょう。そんな家では気楽な気持が絶対に起こらないからです。
If at all possible, we will avoid the first house after our initial visit, for we will never feel at ease there;
しかしあとの家ならば機会あるごとに何度も訪問したくなります。
but we will revisit the second house as often as the opportunity presents itself.
以上のような波動は”細胞の印象”として知られています。
These impressions are known as cell impressions.
建物の細胞（すなわち原子）は居住者の破壊的または建設的な感情を吸収し、これらの印象を私たちの肉体の細胞（原子） ヘ伝えて、
The cells (or atoms) of the structure have absorbed the destructive or constructive emotions of the occupants, and have communicated these impressions to the cells (or atoms) of our body;
憂うつさ、または落ち着いた感じを引き起こすのです。
causing either a feeling of depression or tranquality.
このような波動を感受する人はよく”神経質”だといわれますが、しかし正しく理解してみますと、これは現象の世界にたいする自動的な反応以外の何物でもありません。
Those who receive these impressions are often referred to as "sensitives," but when properly understood, this is nothing more than an automatic reaction to the world of effect.
いいかえれば建物の細胞に吸収される強烈な感情による効果は人間にも影響をおよぼしているのです。
In other words, the effects of the strong emotions absorbed by the cells of the buildings, affected the individual.
これはテレパシーの一種であって、その場合、私たちの内部の触覚がいわゆる生命を持たない物質のほうに注意をむけているか、またはそれと通信しているのです。
This is one phase of telepathy where the "feeling" within us is alterted to, or communicates with, so-called inanimate substance.

We receive the illusion of divisions because of the different vibratory rates of the atoms;
実際には人間の肉体を作っている基本的な原子も無機物としてあらわれている原子も同じものです。
but in actual fact, the basic atoms making up the human body, and those manifesting as minerals, are the same.
こうして、人間と万物との真実の関係および一体性を理解するとき、私たちは万物と意識的に語ることができるのです。
Thus, when we have an understanding of our true relationship to, and oneness with, all creation, we will be able to commune consciously with all phases.
