練習３　硬貨、サイコロ、樹木を用いる実験
Exercise 3.

硬貨を投げあげてそれが落ちるときに「表面が出よ」という命令を与えて、物体とあなたの心を一体にする能力をテストしてごらんなさい。
Test your ability to unify your mind with an object by giving a command to a coin to appear "heads" when it is tossed.

これと同じ命令をサイコロに与えて試みなさい。
Try this same command with dice.

燃えている火を見るとき、激しい摩擦によって荒い物質がガス状に変えられるのを見るように努めなさい。
When you look at a fire, endeavor to see the coarser substance transformed into gaseous elements through intense friction.

調和の感じを保ちながら樹木に近づいて、その生命体と自分とが一体であるということを認識しなさい。
Approach a tree with a feeling of unity, then try to realize your oneness with that life-form.

やがてあなたはその木が脈動しているのがわかるようになります。
In time, you will feel its pulsation.

地下をはっている複雑な綱の目のような根の位置もわかりますし、生長するために必要な要素を根が寄せ集めている有様や、同時に樹木の土台として根が働いている状況もわかってきます。
You will be able to trace its intricate network of roots through the earth, understand how they gather the needed elements for growth, and at the same time act as a ground for the tree.

地上の部分である幹は枝や葉を伸ばしてアンテナとして役立っているのであり、
The portion above ground, the trunk, spreading branches and leaves, serve as an antenna;

地中から吸収している無機物と同様に、生長に必要な生命を与える諸元素を空中からも吸収しているのです。
drawing life-giving elements from space that are just as necessary for its growth as are the minerals it obtains from the earth.

あなたがその樹木から想念波動を感受することができれば、種子が発芽したときから干魃、洪水などの時期全部にわたって、その樹木の生いたちのすべてが書物のように展開してきます。
The entire history of the tree, from the time the seed germinated, through all the years of drought and flood can become an open book when you are able to receive impressions from it.

樹木に関するこのような内容やそれ以上のことが手にとるようにわかります。あなたに生命を与えて生きものたらしめているのと同じ”創造主の息”が樹木にも生命を与えているからです。
This knowledge and much more is available to you, because the same Breath that gives you life as a form, gives the tree life.

このような内奥のフィーリングを発達させるにしたがって、あなたはさらに自然のあらゆる面と一体になってゆくのがわかります。
You will find that the more you work with this inner feeling, the more you will become united with all phases of nature.
