人間の目的とは何か

われわれは何かの理由または目的を持って生まれたという事実に関しては疑問はあり得ません。その理由や目的は沢山あるのでしょう。
There can be no question regarding the fact that we were born for a reason or purpose, and there could be many.

これが真実でないとすれば人間が存在する必要はないということになります。
If this were not true, there would be no need for human beings.

人間の大きな目的は”宇宙の英知の無限の表現”であるように思われます。他の動物がその可能性をもっているとは思えないからです。
The major purpose for man seems to be ― an unlimited Expression of Cosmic Intelligence ― as no other form seems to have that scope of ability.

しかしこれを達成するには創造主のあらゆる面が理解されねばなりません。
Yet to do this, every phase of creation must be understood.

イエスが弟子たちに「父の仕事につけ」と教えたのは、このような生き方を意味したのです。
When Jesus instructed his followers to be "about the Father's business" he had reference to this way of life.

そしてこれを成すには最低の物から最高の物に至るあらゆる現象を理解する必要があります。
And in order to do this one must study each manifestation from the lowest to the highest.

まったくひとしい二人の人間は存在しません。
We find no two human being that are alike.

各人に授けられている異なる才能が相違を生じさせているからです。
For the different talents with which each is endowed makes the difference.

しかしピアノの鍵盤と同様に、人が各音を学んでそれをたたくならば、それにつれて美しい調和した旋律が生まれてきます。
But like the keys on a piano, when one learns the tone of each and strikes it accordingly a beautiful harmonious melody is the result.

鍵盤を理解しなければその逆が生じることになります。
The opposite can be brought forth when not understood.

そこでわれわれは、用いなければならない道具を知ることによって自己を理解するように努力しましょう。
So we will endeavor to understand the self by knowing the equipment we have to work with.
