意識、英知、生命力
Consciousness! The Intelligence And Power Of All Life
われわれは実際には目に見えない生命の海の中に住んでいます。
We are actually living in an invisible sea of life.
そして以前にも述べたように、われわれは目に見える物と見えない物との両方に同時に気づくように自分を訓練する必要があります。
And as I have said before, we should school ourselves to become aware of the visible and invisible at the same time.
なぜなら現在われわれは、接触している目に見える物に心で気づいているにすぎないからです。
For today we are only mentally aware of the visible forms with which we have contact.
しかし万物は最低の物から飛躍していわば不可視の空間をのぞき込んでいます。
Yet all forms rise from the lowest upwards, looking so to speak into invisible space.
なぜそうならなくてはいけないのでしょうか？
And why should this be so ?
万物はちょうど子供が指導を求めて母親を頼りにするのと同様に、その創造主を頼りにしているのではありませんか。
Does not all creation look to its creator as a child looks to the mother for guidance?
そして空間こそ万物の出生地であるために、万物は自分の生まれた家庭を頼りにし、その家族の中で生きているわけです。
And as space is the birthplace of all forms, they look to and live within the household of their birth.
ところが人間は自分の好みのままに生き、しかも自分自身と何ら異なるところのない他の結果（現象）によって導かれながら、地上の生命体に自分を密着させていますが、
Living as we do, guiding ourselves by other effect no different than ourselves, we remain close to the form life of earth.
その生命体は本来、知覚力の最低の段階から出た現象にすぎません。
Which is in itself only an expression from its lowest state of awareness.
海中の動物でさえも水の上の光を見ようとするのがいます。
Even some marine life strives to see the light above the water.
また水という液体は、目に見えない水素と酸素がなければ存在し得ません。
And the liquid of water would not be if it were not for the essence of hydrogen and oxygen which are invisible.
この不可視の状態において生命の要素なるものは、人間の視覚器官で見ることはできません。
In this invisible state the prime of life cannot be seen with the sense of sight of the human mind.
しかしそれは意識を通じて心が知ることはできます。
But it can be known to the mind through consciousness.
というのは、意識は形ある物とは別個な英知であり力であるからです。それは万物を通じて働くときに万物を生かしています。
For consciousness is the intelligence and power that is independent of the forms, yet it activates all forms when it acts through them.
意識は人間が分類しているような光や暗黒という振動を知ってはいません。
Consciousness knows no light or darkness as man classifies these frequencies.
また善や悪をも知ってはいません。善悪とは法則の誤用によって人間が分類したものにすぎないのです。
Nor does it know good or bad for these are classifications of the mind through misapplication of the law.
人体にせよ心にせよ意識を離れて生きることはできません。
No form or mind can live independent of consciousness.
なぜなら意識の外側にいれば何であってもそれは完全な無となることを意味するからです。
For outside of it, if there were any, would be absolute nothingness.
したがって万物の両親である意識という教師の声に人間が心を向けようと努力するのは人間の義務なのです。
So it is up to man to strive to have his mind listen to the teacher, the parent of all creation.
