心霊は関係ない

私が右のような体験を述べますのは、ただ人間の内奥の能力は本人の意識の作用にかかっているだけで、心霊主義とは何の関係もないということを明らかにしたいからです。
I am only giving my experiences to show that man's inate ability is of his own consciousness and has nothing to do with mysticism.

それは法則、すなわち人間の半身、つまり意識という部分を理解することにあります。
But rather it is an understanding of the law or the other half of oneself ― the conscious part.

人類の九九パーセントは自分の意識の能力に気づかないで心に振りまわされて生きています。
99% of humanity is living the mental side of life unaware of their conscious ability or conscious consciousness.

意識によればあなたは宇宙のどこへ行くのも自由ですが、心に頼っていたのでは一箇所につなぎとめられているだけです。
Consciously you are free to go any place in the Cosmos but mentally you are anchored to one place.

私は講演を行なうとき一箇所につながれていますが、意識によって私が求められた場所へ行きました。
As I was anchored to the classroom but consciously I went to where I was needed.

この法則は心の側でも真実なのと同様に、意識の側でも真実です。
And the law is just as real on the conscious side as it is on the mental side.

意識は永久的な面にありますが、心は生命の変化する面にあります。
Consciousness is the permanent side while the mental is the changing side of life.

心は新たに学ぼうとするために常に変化していますが、意識はすべての知識です。
Always changing because the mind is learning while consciousness is all knowledge.

トランス（失神状態）（訳注＝霊媒などがおちいる一種の催眠状態）とはいったい何でしょう？
What is meant by entrancement?

このいわゆる通念は前にも述べましたように指導霊が自分を指導しているのだと考えるために起こる”真実”の歪曲です。
The accepted idea of this is a misrepresentation of reality in the belief that a master is guiding one as spoken of before.

あなたがテレパシーの開発中にこうした印象またはイメージ（訳注＝指導霊がかかってきたという印象）がきたとしても驚いてはいけません。あなたの意識的な自我が意識の部分を見るときに、このようなフィーリングを起こすのです。
Should such an impression or vision come to you during your development do not be alarmed for your conscious self will have this feeling when viewing other parts of consciousness.

あなたの心は急速に全包容的な意識を吸収することはできないということを忘れてはなりません。したがって心が他の意識とつながって確固たる発達をとげるまでは、最初は意識はとぎれとぎれにまたは異なる局面でやってきます。
Remember your mind cannot absorb all inclusive consciousness in a moment, so it must come in parts or different phases in the beginning until the mind is firmly developed in relationship to consciousness.

たとえば、内径一インチのホースは径一インチの棒状の水流を通しますが、水がノズルからほとばしり出るとそれはさまざまの大きさや形の無数の水滴となって分離します。そこでわれわれは自分の”仕様書”に従って各水滴を「大きさが異なる」と言います。
i.e. A one inch hose will carry one inch of water but when the water comes out through the nozzle it separates into hundreds of drops of various sizes and shapes and each could be labeled as different according to our specifications.

しかし植物に落ちる各水滴はそれに水分と生命を与え、水滴が触れる物に実質を与えます。
But each drop that falls upon vegitation gives moisture and life giving substance to that which it touches.

したがって各水滴のエッセンスは総体的には他の水滴と結合するのであって、ホース中を流れているときと変わりません。
Yet the essence of the drop of water unites with all the other drops of water as a whole, no different than it was in the hose.

”宇宙の意識の流れ”もホース中の水と同様です。
And the flow of Cosmic Consciousness is like the water in the hose.

それなくして生きることのできない低次な現象界にたいして奉仕をするために意識はたえず自分を個々に分けているのです。
And it constantly separates itself for the service to be rendered to the lesser manifestations without which they could not live.
