電気を作る発電所の従業員は電気を送り出し、一般人はそれを自分たちの福利のために利用します。
An attendant at a power plant that manufactures electricity sends out the current that you may use it for your benefit.
従業員は電気の作用やその扱い方を知っていますし、
He knows what the electricity is capable of doing and how it is to be used.
一般人もその利用法を習います。
And we are instructed how to use it.
教えられたとおりに用いるならば多くの点でその恩恵に浴することもできますし、
When used as instructed, many benefits are derived in many ways.
その法則に従うならばケガをしないでそれでもって実験を行なうことさえできます。
We can even experiment with it providing we follow the law, without being hurt.
たとえば電気のソケットは電球を差し込むために作られているのであって電流がそこへ流れているときに指を突っ込むために作られているのではありません。
i.e. An electric socket is made to hold a light bulb and not for a finger to be placed in it when the current is on.
指を突っ込まないにしても濡れ手でそれをつかめば感電することがあります。
Even when it is not, should one be standing in moistue, he can receive a shock.
しかし、たとえ電気の法則の誤用によってケガをしたり不愉快な体験を持ったとしても、本人は電力を喜んで供給している発電所の従業員を非難することはできません。
If one gets hurt or has an unpleasant experience by the misuse of the law, he cannot blame the man that is willingly giving him the power.
法則にたいする無知、または自分の無茶な行為のために自分だけを非難すべきです。
He can only blame himself, either for ignorance of the law, or aggression on his part.
宇宙の創造主は人間に生命力と、意識という経路を通じて英知を与えています。
The Creator gives us the power of life, and intelligence through the avenue of consciousness.
そして個人のエゴ（自我）の心は法則（創造主の法則）に従ってこれらを（生命力と英知を）良い方向に応用できますし、または法則をおかして悪い結果を得ることもできますが、これは電気の場合と同様です。
The personal ego mind can use this in accordance with the law or it can transgress the law and receive either bad or good results, as with the electricity.
万人はこのための自由意志を与えられているのです。
Every individual has been granted this free will.
ここで別な好例としてまたもテレビの受像機をとりあげることにしましょう。
We can use the television set again, as a good example.
受像機は本来電気も英知も持ちませんが、
The set in itself has no power or intelligence.
人間の脳または心に相当する各種部品があって、それは電気が供給されるまでは働くことができません。
But there are instruments in it equivalent to the brain or mind of man which cannot act until the power is turned on.
電気が流れ込んでくると知的な表現が始まります。
When this is done, intelligent expression follows.
つまり、メッセージを運ぶ電波によって知性が受像機の中に吸い込まれると言えるでしょう。
Let us say that the intelligence is inhaled into the set through the ether or radio waves which carry the message.
そうすると知的な表現が起こり、メッセージが入ってくるのみならず、スクリーン上に人々が生ける映像として示されます。
And as they come into the set the expression takes place, and not only the message comes through, but the individuals are shown as a living image on the screen.
私の知るところでは、アメリカには八〇種類のチャンネルがあって、それによって番組が放送されています。
As I understand it, there are 80 different frequency channels in this nation over which programs are carried.
各チャンネルは他のチャンネルすべてと分離していますが、なかには周波数が類似しているために他のチャンネルを妨害するものもあります。
Each channel is separated from all the others, yet some are so close that they encroach upon another.
そこで各チャンネルをはっきり分離させるために、極めて優秀な受像機を必要とするわけです。
This calls for a very fine instrument to keep them separated.
あらゆるチャンネルは同一の電力と同一の法則を応用しますが、なかには数チャンネルしか入らない受像機もあります。
All channels use the same power and the same law, but there are sets that can only pick up a few channels.
しかしあらゆる受像機が役立つためには電力と電波の力を借りなければなりません。
Yet all must depend upon the power and the ether waves to be of service.
また番組を続けて映し出すためには電波を吸い込んだり吐き出したりしなければなりません。
And they must inhale and exhale the waves to have the continuence of the program.
人間もこれと同様です。
So it is with man.
人間には、いわばあらゆる表現能力が内蔵され潜在されているからです。
For he has all the potentials of expression built in, as it were.
そして人間は生命の息を役立たせるために、それを吸い込んだり吐き出したりする必要があります。
And he must inhale and exhale the breath of life to be of service.
もしその呼吸をやめるならば、何の動きもない静止した道具となります。
Should he cease breathing he would become a stilled instrument without any motion.
しかも吸い込むだけで吐き出すことをしなければ生命表現の連続状態は停止するでしょう。
Yet to inhale and not exhale the continuous state of life expression would cease.
人体を活動させるためにはたえずこの”生命の呼吸”が人体を流れねばなりません。
THE BREATH OF LIFE must pass through the form continuously for it to be active.
これはテレビ受像機を生かす電波に比較できます。
It is comparable to the ether waves that feed the television set.
注意しなければならないのは、生命の息も電波もいたる所に存在していてそこに障壁はないけれども、表現するためには道具を必要とするということです。
Notice that the breath of life and the ether waves are everywhere and know no barriers, but they need an instrument to express through.
人間の心はテレビ受像機の検波管にたとえてよいでしょう。
Man's mind could be compared to a detector tube in the T.V.
これは電気が供給されないかぎり機能を発揮できません。
set which cannot function until the power is turned on.
意識はこの電気と知性のようなもので、生命の呼吸という方法によって心を刺激します。
And consciousness is the power and intelligence that motivates the mind through the process of the breath of life.
われわれが空気と呼んでいるこの息なくしては何物も生きることはできません。
And without this breath which we call air, nothing could live.
一粒の砂でさえも生きることはできないでしょう。万物がその息に頼っているからです。
Not even a grain of sand, for everything depends upon it.
その息が各種の形態を通じて表れるとき、それは完全なメロディーを生み出し、充分に生命を表現します。
As it manifests through the various forms it brings forth a complete melody, expressing life in its fullness.
