想念は人体を作る彫刻家

人間とは想念であるという点を明らかにしましょう。
Let me clear the point of man being a thought.

人間またはその他の動物のように形ある肉体を作るためには、その形ある肉体の創造が何者のせいであろうと、創造される前に創造者はその肉体の”想念による原型”を持つ必要があったのです。
To create a form like that of man or any other, whatever is responsible for creating the form had to have a thought pattern of the form before it could be created.

人間は思考する実体です。というのは想念は人間の存在のための刺激的な力であるため、もし人間が考えることをしなければ生きておられないからです。
Man is a thinking being, for if he did not think he would not be what he is as thought is the motivating force of his being.

人間は歩いたり食べたりする前に考えねばなりません。それで、何を行なおうとしてもガイドとして一つの想念を持つ必要があります。
He has to think before he can walk or eat and no matter what he does he has to have a thought as a director.

そしてこうした想念は過去の体験の組み合わせ、他人との交際、または宇宙的印象としてやってきます。
And these thoughts come to him either as a combination of past experiences, associations with others, or as cosmic impressions.

さて、いかに異なるタイプの想念が現れるかを観察しましょう。
Now let us observe how different types of thoughts manifest.

もし怒りの想念が心に入ってくると、顔付きは変化して怒りを表現します。
If an angry thought enters the mind the facial expression changes to represent the anger.

楽しい想念が起こると顔は楽しくなってくるなどの変化が起こります。
And if a happy thought is present it expresses, etc., etc.

これは心中に持っている一つの想念を粘土で形に表現する彫刻家と同じことです。
It is no different than a sculptor who molds out of clay a thought that he has in mind.

したがって想念とは、それが何を表現しようとも彫刻家のようなものです。想念がみずからを表現するために顔の表情を作るからです。
So a thought whatever it may represent is like the sculptor for it molds the facial expression to represent itself.

したがって若々しく健康な、よく均整のとれた肉体を望む知的実体たるわれわれは、常にそうした想念を持たなければなりません。その原型に従って肉体を形作るからです。
So we as intelligent beings desiring youthful, healthy, well proportioned bodies should always have that type of thought for it will mold the body according to its pattern.

肉体が若さを保とうとすれば、特に宇宙的な線にそった新鮮な想念が重要です。
And a thought of newness especially along cosmic lines is important if the body is to maintain youthfulness.
